Baringa Barambah Meeanjinu

Baringa Barambah Meeanjinu is a proud Turrbal and Gubbi Gubbi woman from Queensland with a connection to Wakka Wakka, Kamilaroi and Birri Gubba Country. She grew up on her ancestral homelands in Meeanjin (Brisbane) learning the traditional laws and customs from her Elders. Before her passing, her Nana Connie Isaacs, with whom she had a very close bond, imparted Baringa with her knowledge of the Turrbal traditional songlines and dreaming stories,

As a Chevening and Roberta Sykes Scholar, Baringa completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specialising in Culture & Arts Management and Social Innovation at the University of Cambridge. She has worked in a diverse range of finance, strategy and operations roles in Community Organisations, Corporates and Government to deliver projects across Australia, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Baringa is passionate about working with Aboriginal communities to improve social, cultural, and economic outcomes.

Vicki McDonald

Vicki McDonald

Vicki McDonald is a recognised leader in the library and information sector. Spanning four decades, her career has included leadership roles in public, academic and state libraries. In 2016, her national and international experience led to her appointment as State Librarian and Chief Executive Officer of State Library of Queensland. In August 2023, she started her term as IFLA President 2023-2025.

Sharon Memis

Sharon Memis

Sharon Memis, FRSA, took up the role of Secretary General and CEO of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) in June 2023. Sharon’s background is in international cultural relations and higher education. She is a passionate internationalist and speaks several languages. Sharon spent most of her career with the British Council and held senior leadership roles in Europe, North America and Asia promoting UK Education and Culture. She has also worked for a range of organisations as a consultant in international strategy. Prior to joining IFLA, Sharon was Chief Operating Officer at the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
